Coastal Conservation League // Fall 2022
The Coastal Conservation League’s food and agriculture program, GrowFood Carolina, collaborated with local gin distillery, High Wire Distilling Co. on a small-batch maritime gin. This gin featured locally foraged, Eastern Red Cedar berries, Meyer lemons, and satsuma mandarins.
They chose the name to highlight the maritime nature of this gin and to symbolize the collaboration that made the gin possible. The design shows a map of the Charleston Harbor and rivers to compliment the name and highlight the local-to-Charleston ingredients.
Using local produce set this gin a part from others, they wanted to make the Meyer lemon, satsuma mandarin, and Eastern Red Cedar berries the focus of the design.
High Wire Distilling Co. hosted an event to celebrate this collaborative gin, featuring specialty cocktails made with this gin.
